This unique 11-day journey blends the thrill of conquering Mount Kilimanjaro with immersive cultural and wildlife experiences. First, take on Africa’s highest peak along the Machame Route, reaching the “Roof of Africa” at 5,895m. After your trek, discover Tanzania’s cultural treasures at Lake Eyasi with the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers and Datoga blacksmiths, followed by game drives in Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater. It’s the perfect adventure for those who want both challenge and connection.
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport where our team welcomes you. Transfer to a lodge in Arusha for briefing, gear check, and overnight stay.
Begin your trek through lush rainforest, spotting monkeys and colorful birds, before reaching Machame Camp for your first night on the mountain.
Climb steep ridges and cross moorland to Shira Camp, located on a high plateau with panoramic views of Kibo Peak.
Ascend to Lava Tower (4,600m) for acclimatization, then descend into the Barranco Valley, famous for its dramatic scenery.
Climb the Barranco Wall, an exciting scramble with stunning views, then hike across valleys to Karanga Camp. Rest and acclimatize.
Ascend steadily to Barafu Camp, the final base before summit night. Rest early for your midnight push to the top.
Trek overnight toward Stella Point, then continue to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa. After celebrating your achievement, descend to Mweka Camp for overnight.
Descend through rainforest to Mweka Gate. Receive your summit certificates and transfer back to Arusha for a hot shower, dinner, and overnight stay.
Drive to Lake Eyasi, a remote soda lake region. In the afternoon, visit the Datoga blacksmiths, learning about their traditional craft and way of life. Overnight near Lake Eyasi.
Join the Hadzabe hunter-gatherers on an early morning hunting trip, experiencing their ancient lifestyle. After breakfast, continue to the Ngorongoro Highlands for relaxation and overnight in a lodge.
Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a final safari, spotting lions, rhinos, hippos, and flamingos. In the afternoon, drive back to Arusha for your evening flight or onward travel.
A 30% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation.
The balance must be paid in full at least 60 days before the safari start date.
Payments can be made via bank transfer or secure online payment gateway.
2. Cancellation Policy
Cancellations made 91+ days before arrival: 25% cancellation fee.
Cancellations made 61–90 days before arrival: 50% cancellation fee.
Cancellations made 60 days or less before arrival: 100% cancellation fee.
Refunds (if applicable) will be processed minus bank and transaction charges.
3. Included Services
Accommodation, meals, park fees, scheduled game drives, transfers, and internal flights are included as per itinerary.
Any additional services not explicitly stated in the "Items Included" list will be charged separately.
4. Not Included
International flights, travel insurance, visa fees, gratuities, and personal expenses are not included.
Premium drinks, spa treatments, and optional activities are extra unless specified.
5. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all guests and must cover trip cancellation, medical emergencies, and evacuation.
6. Health & Safety
Guests are advised to consult their doctor for any required vaccinations or medications prior to travel.
Tanzania is a malaria zone; prophylactics are recommended.
7. Child Policy
Children are welcome at &Beyond Grumeti. However, children under 6 may not be allowed on shared game drives.
Child rates and private safari vehicle arrangements are available on request.
